• Forward arrested on suspicion of violent disorder
• QPR's Anton Ferdinand questioned by police
El Hadji Diouf will not face charges over a nightclub brawl. The former Liverpool, Bolton, Blackburn and Rangers forward was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder following a fight at the Circle Club in Manchester city centre in the early hours of 15 April.
The Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand, 27, was also questioned under caution by police about the incident and was released without charge.
The 31-year-old Diouf, who played for Doncaster Rovers last season, was among six men arrested by officers investigating an incident that left a 33-year-old man needing hospital treatment for head and neck injuries. Diouf was a team-mate of Ferdinand when they were both at Sunderland.
Three men have been charged in connection with the fight and will appear before Manchester magistrates on 16 August.
