Homegrown Player Jose Villarreal Makes His Mls Debut

PORTLAND, Ore—Jose Villarreal was on the field for less than a minute during the Galaxy’s 5-3 victory over the Portland Timbers, but it will be a minute that the 18-year-old midfielder will never forget.

The 18-year-old homegrown product from Inglewood made his professional debut on Saturday night, coming on for Robbie Keane in the final seconds of stoppage time. Although the youngster was unable to register even a touch on the ball before the final whistle was blown, it was a debut to remember.
