Last week we reported that Canadian International Tosaint Ricketts was on trial with 2.Bundesliga club Dynamo Dresden. During that trial the Edmonton native scored 4 goals in 3 appearances and it was reported that he impressed the coach in both training and exhibitions.
He seems set to sign for the club on the back of that impressive trial and was even included in the team photo taken this week. The
reports in Germany
suggest that both parties are very interested in getting a deal in place but they still have some details left to finalize before Ricketts can be officially signed.
If Dresden can get a deal sorted out for Ricketts in the coming days it would enable the Canadian forward to take part in preseason with them including a pair of friendlies against English clubs. Dresden is set to play
Manchester City
(July 17) and
West Ham United
(July 27) to tune up for the upcoming 2.Bundesliga season. Both matches would certainly be among the career highlights for Ricketts even if a club like City is unlikely to be using much of their first team for such a match.
