With the MLS window opening up on June 27th it was only a matter of time before
Toronto FC
made their first roster moves of the summer. They got things started with one that really is not that big of a story. By releasing
Efrain Burgos Jr
. they have done little more than cleared out a roster spot as his $33k contract was not hitting the salary cap anyhow.
The club announced the move with a very
bare bones post
on their website which seems about fitting as there was not much to be said about his time at the club.
Burgos only made two appearances for the club after being selected 44th overall in the 3rd round of the 2011 MLS SuperDraft. He only racked up 11 minutes of playing time in those two matches so he was certainly not a key part of either coaches plans.
The club did have to wait a full season to be able to bring the El Salvador native in after he had issues getting a work permit in the season after he was drafted. He does have experience playing a few games for the El Salvador national team but he never seemed ...
